Prior to Steve's coaching career that has now spanned over 2 decades, he played 10 years professionally in which he scored 375 goals and had 804 points in 422 pro games.  Teams included the New York Rangers in the NHL, along with 4 pro teams in North American and Europe.  He also represented Canada in the World Juniors and on the Men's National Team. Steve played for several well-known coaches including Ken Hitchcock, Dave King, Peter Mahovlich, and Michel Bergeron.  He played 3 seasons in the WHL with the Lethbridge Broncos.  Steve is a local Calgarian who played his minor hockey for the Royals.
